About Our Kennel
Schulhaus is a small kennel owned by Matt and Stacey Smith.
We are located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
We have kept and loved German Shorthaired Pointers since
1994; our home has never been without a GSP since!
Matt is an avid bird hunter, therefore, our dogs get hunted on a
variety of wild birds; from the east to the west; from upland to
waterfowl. Matt’s passion is hunting, training, and testing our
dogs in American Kennel Club (AKC) and North American
Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA). All our dogs
are AKC and NAVHDA registered.
Schulhaus’s goal is to produce top quality versatile hunting
dogs that excel in the field and water, are true to the breed
standard, and possess biddable easy temperaments that make
them cherished family companions. In the summer of 2008
we produced our first litter from Schulhaus’s foundation bitch,
Nobelles Schulhaus Belle, MH UT I. This litter was our first to
receive a NAVHDA breeder’s award.
